Culmback Dam

Culmback Dam is located on the Sultan River.

The Culmback Dam on the Sultan River was built in 1965 to form the Spada Reservoir. In 1983 the dam was raised 90 feet which increased the capacity of the reservoir by 400 percent. The dam currently holds back about 50 billion gallons of water.

The dam was named in memory of George Culmback, a former Everett Mayor, an Everett School Board member, a State Legislator and one of the sponsors of the Stevens Pass Highway Project.
