Spada Reservior

This resevior holds 50 billion gallons of water.

Spada Reservoir was formed in 1965 when the Culmback Dam was built. The dam was raised in 1983 allowing the reservoir to hold 50 billion gallons of water. It covers nearly 1,900 acres and has 17 miles of shoreline.

The reservoir was named in honor of John Spada, one of the origianl Snohomish County PUD Commissioners, an active grange member, and an organizer of the Snohomish Soil Conservation District.

To maintain the high quality of the water, recreational activities on the reservoir are limited. Gas-powered engines, swimming or fishing with bait are prohibited. Both the watershed and the reservoir are patrolled daily. Access to the reservoir is restricted after sundown.
