Water Testing Lab

The water quality is monitored by instruments and operators 24-hours a day.

Water is taken from the following areas for testing.

Chaplain Reservior
Water Intake
Flocculation Basins
Water leaving the Filters and entering the Clearwell
Water leaving the Clearwell.

In addition to the instrument testing, operators perform the same tests on the water six times a day.

The computers and the instruments test for the following.

Turbidity
Chlorine
Flouride
pH level
Temperature

Test results obtained by the operator and those obtained by the instruments are compared for discrepancies. Major discrepancies may indicate that the instruments need to be recalibrated.
