Shore Avenue Stormwater Improvement

Description
Surface water from Shore Avenue and surrounding areas drain to stormwater pipes that convey flows down the steep hillside to ditches along the railroad tracks.  Erosion and slides are not uncommon along this steep hillside.  This project will evaluate and design the transfer of surface water flows from an above ground pipe located north of 3209 Shore Avenue to an existing below ground sewer pipe located west and north of 3119 Shore Avenue.  The transfer of flows to the below ground sewer pipe would eliminate concerns about erosion or slides impacting an above ground pipe.

Project Schedule 
The City is currently working with BNSF on an agreement for the culvert crossing the railroad tracks. Design is expected to be complete in 2010. Construction timing is dependent on permit acquisition.
