Arbor Day Celebration
One generation plants the tree, another gets the shade.
Every year Everett Parks and Recreation joins with an Everett elementary schools' 5th grade students for an Arbor Day Celebration at a selected site within the city. Hosted by Mayor Ray Stephanson, the celebration includes a ceremony, tree planting and refreshments.

Mayor Ray Stephanson and Parks & Recreation staff will join Garfield Elementary School Students on April 8th to help plant a selection of trees as part of the city's annual Arbor Day celebration. Senator H.M. Jackson Park will receive the new additions that will be around for generations.
In a brief ceremony Everett will be designated by the National Arbor Day Foundation as a Tree City USA for the 14th year. Everett consistently meets the foundation's standards and encourages ongoing stewardship of its urban forest. In addition, Snohomish County PUD will receive the Tree Line Award.
Everett Transit's new hybrid buses will be on site to tour. These new buses are designed to run quieter and use less energy than regular diesel buses. An all around environmentally friendly day. Join us!
