On November 17, 2009, Planning Commission held a public hearing on the proposed amendments to the single family development standards. After public testimony and Planning Commission discussion, the resolution was approved and will move forward to City Council at a later date.
The proposed amendments include:
- Definition of “accessory dwelling unit”
- Definition of “lot coverage by building”
- Single family and duplex development standards in the north Everett, Lowell and Pinehurst neighborhoods.
- Regulations for accessory dwelling units, which will allow accessory dwellings in buildings that are detached from the principal dwelling. The current regulations only allow accessory dwellings within the principal dwelling.
